Notice on the Selection of Scholarships for International Undergraduate Students of Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University for the 2025 Academic Year

To All International Student Classes:

In accordance with the "Implementation Measures for the Scholarship for International Undergraduate Students at Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University (Trial)," the selection process for the 2025 academic year scholarships for international undergraduate students of Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University is hereby initiated. All classes are requested to actively recommend eligible and outstanding international students for application. Specific requirements are as follows:

I. Eligibility

Currently enrolled international undergraduate students registered at Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University.

II. Application Criteria

1.  Freshman Scholarships: Newly admitted students for the current academic year will be automatically included in the candidate list for Freshman Scholarships, provided they abide by Chinese laws and regulations, as well as the rules of the university and the school after enrollment.

2.  Academic Excellence Scholarships & Outstanding Student Cadre Scholarships: Applicants must meet all the following criteria:

(1) Comply with Chinese laws and regulations, and the management regulations of the university and the school.

(2) Demonstrate a proper learning attitude and achieve excellent academic performance.

(3) Complete a minimum of 18 hours of voluntary service within the current academic year (referring to the period from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025).

III. Quota Allocation

1.  Freshman Scholarships:

Clinical Medicine (English-taught): First-class scholarship: no more than 5 persons; Second-class scholarship: no more than 10 persons; Third-class scholarship: a number of awards for other well-performing students meeting the basic criteria.

Pharmacy: First-class scholarship: no more than 2 persons; Second-class scholarship: no more than 4 persons; Third-class scholarship: a number of awards for other well-performing students meeting the basic criteria.

3.  Outstanding Student Cadre Scholarships:

No more than 1 person per eligible class.

IV. Application Documents

1. Recipients of Freshman Scholarships do not need to submit additional application materials.

2. Applicants for Academic Excellence Scholarships and Outstanding Student Cadre Scholarships must submit the following:

(1) Scholarship Application Form for International Undergraduate Students of Suzhou Medical College of Soochow University* (see Attachment 1; submit a scanned PDF copy after signing).

(2) Proof of voluntary service hours and documentation of participation in relevant public welfare activities.

(3) Other supporting materials.

Note:

The validity period for materials (2) and (3) is from September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025. Materials outside this period will not be accepted. Applicants must ensure the authenticity of all submitted documents. If any application materials are found to be inconsistent with the facts, the student will be disqualified from scholarship selection and evaluation for excellence during their entire period of study.

V. Selection Procedure

1. Students must complete the application form and prepare all required documents, submitting them to their respective Class Supervisor by December 19, 2025.

2. The College will organize a panel of experts to conduct a comprehensive review of the candidates. A preliminary list of award recipients will be formulated and submitted to the Joint Meeting of the Party and Administration for final approval. Once approved, the final list will be publicized for a 5-working-day period.
