Dear Students:
The National Medical Innovation Competition for University Students and the "Belt and Road" International Competition, formerly known as the National University Student Basic Medical Innovation Research and Experimental Design Forum, is a guiding, exemplary, and widely participated science and technology innovation competition for university students. It is one of the top national competitions for medical students.
The 11th National Medical Innovation Competition for University Students and the "Belt and Road" International Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Medical Innovation Competition") is scheduled to be held from January to August 2025. The International Student Office of Suzhou Medical College will coordinate the participation of international students in this competition. Details are as follows:
1. Eligible Participants
All international undergraduate students enrolled in Suzhou Medical College from the 2020 to 2024 batch are eligible to form teams and register for the competition. Cross-university team formation is generally not allowed, but interdisciplinary team formation within the university is encouraged.
Participants must compete as a team, with each team consisting of 3 to 5 members (no fewer than 3 and no more than 5). During the preliminary phase, participants may register for multiple projects.
2. Competition Categories, Tracks, and Requirements
(1) Disciplinary Tracks
For undergraduate students, multiple competition tracks are available. We are organizing participation in the following two sub-tracks under the [International Track] of the "Belt and Road" International Medical Innovation Competition:
a. Basic Medical Research (teams consisting entirely of international students in China).
b. International Health Policy Research or International Promotion and Research of Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture (teams consisting entirely of international students in China).
Basic Medical Research falls under the Experimental Design category. International Health Policy Research or Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Promotion and Research falls under the Innovation Research category.
(2) Work Categories
a. Experimental Design Category: Showcasing and discussing the original scientific research and experimental designs conducted by students outside of class to address medical problems or explain medical phenomena using experimental methods.
b. Innovation Research Category: Showcasing and discussing unpublished academic papers based on extracurricular research by students to address medical problems or explain medical phenomena using experimental methods (academic papers in the submission stage by June 30, 2025, are eligible).
