For fresh students, within 30 days of entry into China, you must go to the local immigration department to apply for a residence permit. Failure to do so will result in penalties imposed by the public security organs in accordance with relevant regulations.
For senior students, you must apply for the extension of residence permit before its expire, better 2 weeks in advance.

Reminder:
1. Youself are the only one who is responsible for your residence permit, teachers will not remind you when it's going to expire;
2. When you renew a passport within the residence permit validity, you must apply for the change of residence permit on the new passport asap;
